Cheese Dessert:
Hoşmerim, Höşmerim or Höşmelim, is a dough dessert with a semolina. It is a yellow sweet which is prepared more different in Çanakkale region. According to legend, hoşmerim was first time cooked by a woman. And she served it to her husband. Then asked her husband " Hoş mu erim ?” (means; is it delicious?) and from there the food name Hoşmerim as remained.
Materials
1 kg. milk (not boiling) 1 teaspoon of rennet 3 tea cups semolina 1 tea cup corn oil 1 egg ½ vanilla
Preparation:
1 kg. milk without boiling off the chill. Put yeast in 1 teaspoon of cheese. Makes a ferment like yogurt (2 hours). Put 3 cup semolina, 1 cup cooking oil, 1 egg, vanilla. Mix with wooden spoon thoroughly to get certain pieces of cheese. Then put 3 cups sugar. 5 dk. Boil 5 minutes capped by a little more. Rest here, then pour it into bowls and serve. Type can be served with ice cream in summer time.
